REVEALED : HOW MULTICHOICE BREACHED THEIR CLIENT’S PRIVACY

Knowledge about personal/priavate information should not be taken lightly. All of us know this guy called Snowden. Snowden shaped the future of Whistle Blowers when he leaked Confidential NSA documents that put the USA on the spot. The leaked documents exposed how the American government was spying on its neighbors and its own people with Impunity. 

I will not be talking about Snowden today. My focus will be on Multichoice . Recent happenings have proved beyond any reasonable doubts that this company does not respect or value our privacy.But you know what? Kenyans do not understand how their privacy matters. That explains why Multichoice   may get  away with these serious crimes unscathed.

If we could Just boil things down to the reality on the ground, Multichoice   should pay dearly for disrespecting our Privacy.

On 26th June 2015, 11: 55 Am  one of Multichoice’s staff members going by the name Simon Called Evans  ( Not his real  ) from Telephone number 0711-066*** and requested for information about Evans Residence ostensibly for purposes of normal systems Upgrade .  at 11:56 Am on the 26th of June, 2015, Simon called again and asked for Evans specific apartment number . Being concerned about the overly intrusive nature of his call, to which he responded that he had been given the instructions to get the information by her boss one Ms Jackie Mwaura, who happens to be a senior member of staff at GOTV , He was worried .

Sadly, Multichoice has refused to respond to this client .

Here are some questions that come up …

1. Is Multichoice using client information for other purposes other than providing the services
2. Is the information of over 50,000 clients safe with Multichoice
3. How did the staff at Multichoice know the exact location of this client yet she had not reported any problem.
4. Is it in order for senior managers such as Jackie Mwaura to abuse their position of privilege.
5. Why hasn’t Jackie Mwaura and Simon been reprimanded by Multichoice.
6. Is Multichoice covering up for acts of abuse by their senior managers.
7. Why has this client not been given an official explanation in almost a month.
8. Why would Multichoice require a specific apartment number of a client.
9. How come customer service of Multichoice said there was no upgrade.
10. The only information needed by customer service is email address and phone number so why ask for house number?
11. Who is protecting Jackie Mwaura and Simon?
12. What should the client do fellow lawyers?
13. Isn’t this act by Jackie Mwaura and Simon a criminal offence?
14. Is there guarantee as a client that my information is secure?
